About Miraflora CBD Recovery Balm

I love a topical CBD balm. In my opinion, topicals are an underrated category of cannabis products. They allow you to take advantage of CBD’s pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, activate the endocannabinoid receptors in your skin, and won’t get you high. They also won’t stress your liver the same way NSAIDs will, making topical products a perfect addition to any medicine cabinet.

Of course with all CBD products, it’s about finding the high-quality ones that work. And this balm from Colorado-based Miraflora works.

This balm has 500 mg of CBD. I find any products under 350 mg don’t have the same potency, so I always look for balms or salves with higher milligrams. Miraflora also has a 250 mg option, but I recommend the 500 mg one.

Outside of CBD, this balm has a short list of ingredients, which is always a positive in my book. It has shea butter and coconut oil for hydration, and several pain-relieving terpenes you’ve likely used before: menthol, arnica, and nerolidol. Menthol in particular is popular in all kinds of pain-relieving products, and its familiar scent will be the first thing that hits you when you open the container.

It’s thick, slow-absorbing, and spreads easily. I’ve been using this balm daily for the past week to help my ankle heal. I twisted it after taking a step wrong, and while it’s a minor sprain, it’s still swollen and annoying. I’ve been using the balm every day on it, and haven’t taken a single Advil, ibuprofen, or Tylenol for it – another win in my book.

How do CBD topicals work?

CBD topicals work by activating the endocannabinoid receptors in your skin. Every mammal has an endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for the effects of cannabis as well as producing cannabinoid-like molecules in our body. You have ECS receptors on every organ in your body, including your skin. Since your ECS functions to keep your body balanced and healthy, activating ECS receptors on the skin can help speed along the healing processes.

Why I love the CBD Recovery Balm from Miraflora

Two words: the quality. CBD topical products vary wildly in quality based on the hemp used. Miraflora exclusively uses single-sourced CBD from their USDA-certified organic and non-GMO hemp farm in Boulder County, Colorado. Since Miraflora grows its own hemp and processes its own products, the end result is a high-quality product that outperforms any CBD topical from a third-party seller.

I got this balm in early 2022, and have been sitting on it for a while. Since then, Miraflora has redone its packaging, which is why mine looks a little different than the one currently on its website. Rest assured – it’s got the same ingredients and is the same great product.
