These Wunderkind gummies are heady. That’s the best way I can describe them. I get high when I eat one (and I should, with 30 mg of cannabinoids, including THC, CBD, and CBN) but I don’t stop functioning. Instead, I am high; my brain is relaxed, but I can move and I can concentrate (in short bursts.)
Why I Like Purple Kush x Apple Pie Wunderkind Gummies
These aren’t “deep work” or sleepytime gummies for me, but they’re majorly relaxing. I took one after a stressful day at the mechanic’s dealing with van repairs, and a short 45 minutes later I felt the anger lifting off my brain like a dark cloud. I took another before kayaking in Wikki Wachee Springs and was transported into an otherwordly paradise by the crystalline water, deep pools, and thick forest.
It’s like taking my brain to the spa, wrapping it in a warm towel, and laying it on a massage bed. I can watch a movie and sink into it or paddle three miles on the river. Unlike some other higher-dose gummies, these ones from Wunderkind get me high and let me choose my adventure. I don’t get pushed into a state of couchlock or find myself manically cleaning the house – it’s just an improvement on what I’ve been doing.
I got these from a friend (shout out to Veronica Castillo, the traveling vegan cannabis writer!) so I tried one without much research. Imagine my surprise when I read that Wunderkind geared these gummies towards sleep! It’s not surprising, given the amount of CBN (10 mg) which is commonly used in weed sleep products. The jury is still out on exacting how sedating CBN is (animal studies produced conflicting results, consumer data suggests it is.) But I don’t find these gummies to be very sedating – at least not for the first few hours. However, Wunderkind does promise a “blissful, long-lasting euphoria blankets the mind [and] physical relaxation” which these gummies completely deliver on.
Let me note here that your endocannabinoid system is as unique as your fingerprint, so how I feel from this combination and dose of cannabinoids may not be reflective of your experience. These gummies may knock you out!

These gummies have 30 mg of cannabinoids: 15mg of THC, 5mg of CBD, and 10mg of CBN. I’ve taken a full gummy each time because I can tolerate it and I enjoy the experience, but I am curious how a half dose will feel (and I’ll update this blog when I finally try it.) What are Hemp-Derrived Cannabinoids?

If a plant has less than .3% THC by weight, it is federally considered a hemp plant. Here’s where it gets a little cloudy: a hemp-derived cannabinoid can mean one of two things. The first is as simple as it sounds: the cannabinoids found in hemp plants. This includes CBD and THC and can include other cannabinoids as well.
The other definition for hemp-derived cannabinoids are ones that are chemically converted from CBD into other cannabinoids like delta-8, delta-10, and even delta9-THC. And this definition is also a loophole that many businesses have exploited to create less-than-safe products to make a quick buck.
