Product Name: Arizer Extreme Q Table Vaporizer
Brand: Arizer
Category: Dry herb vaporizer
Star rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Summary: An affordably priced and incredibly reliable desktop vaporizer

I don’t love handheld vapes. I’ve tried a few different brands and while they work well and I appreciate them, they never deliver a high sensation similar enough to combustion. But this table vape is different.
What is a Table Vape/ Desktop Vape?
A table vaporizer is a dry herb vaporizer. It’s called a table vape because, unlike a handheld vape, it’s a large enough machine to require space to use. I’ve owned this Arizer Extreme Q for years – since at least 2019. In the early days, I didn’t like it much. I would crank the heat up to the highest level possible, hit a few bags, and be overwhelmed with a couch-locked high that often left me with a headache.
So the table vape went into storage and I forgot about it… for years. It was only recently when I was tackling those last few boxes hanging around my house (you know how moving is) that I re-discovered this device.
As I am in the midst of a smoke break, it was a godsend. Here was the perfect opportunity to try it out again, to enjoy the rapid delivery method of oral consumption without the harsh by-products of smoking and without abandoning my break.
Is it technically a loophole to vaporize herb when I’m on a combustion break? Yeah, probably. But it’s a smoke break – my THC break ended at the beginning of March, so I’m puffing away!
About the Arizer Q Table Vape
The Arizer Extreme Q is a less expensive option than the famous Volcano, which resides quite outside my price range. It’s a solid piece of technology that’s easy enough to get the hang of. It’s simple to fill, quick to clean, and stores perfectly next to my bongs. You can control it with the buttons directly on the device or with the remote control.
The Arizer Extreme Q uses a ceramic heater with convection heat, so your plant matter never touches the heater. Instead, rising hot air gently heats the ground bud, slowly releasing the delicious terpenes and cannabinoids into a bag or through a hose.
The base of the vape never comes in contact with the plant matter, so it doesn’t require cleaning. The glass bowl and down stem are borosilicate glass, which makes it a snap to clean with isopropyl alcohol or your favorite bong cleaner. Each bag (or balloon) comes with an attached mouthpiece so you don’t have to worry about cleaning that unless you’re sharing your bags widely. The hose attachment is rubber and I assume it can be cleaned the same way, but I don’t use it to confirm that.
The Arizer Extreme Q also comes with a wide bowl attachment that can be used for aromatherapy: place your aromatics in it, allow the vape to heat up, and the smell disperses throughout the room, cleaning out any remnants of your vapor odor.
Interestingly, some studies suggest that vaporizing cannabis can increase the effects of it
How to Use the Arizer Extreme Q
So let’s talk about using it. I like to preheat the device while I grind my weed so it’s warm and ready to go. You don’t have to do this, but the first bag will be even weaker if you don’t.
I fill the bowl according to my sesh – if there’s more than one person, I fill the bowl to the line where it changes from clear to black glass. If it’s just me, I’ll fill it a fraction of that. It does take a few minutes to fill a bag, but the fan is pretty quiet – I run this while watching TV without issue. Once the bag has reached its full extension, it’s time to hit it.
The vapor is practically odorless (which makes it super discreet) and yet highly flavorful of the strain you’re consuming. I’ve noticed flavors in my weed that get overwhelmed by combustion, like a spicy creaminess to Scented Marker. The first bag is usually quite light in flavor and richness, but the second and third bags are an explosion of flavor.
I usually vape my weed at 375 F. When I first tried using this vape, I was cranking it up to 420 or even 450 F. At these high temps, your terpenes and minor cannabinoids evaporate really quickly, leaving you with a stronger yet harsher bud.
I like 375 F because it begins to release all of the compounds without immediately evaporating the more delicate ones. You can even set it as low as 275 F to really experience all the compounds in your weed. This chart from the Cannigma is helpful in understanding the boiling points of cannabinoids and terpenes in your weed, and how your vaporizer temperature affects the flavor and effects.
Tips for Using a Dry Herb Table Vape
- Start with a low temp. One of the best parts of using a dry herb vape is the ability to control the temperature. But don’t start by cranking it up to the highest setting possible. Terpenes and cannabinoids have various boiling points, and the lower you start out, the more flavor you’ll enjoy.
- Fill a few bags. The first vapor bag is never going to be as rich or as thick as the second or third. It takes a bit to understand the dosing of using a table vape but test out hitting two bags versus three bags, and three bags versus four. Each bag will have its own flavor depending on the compounds reaching their boiling point, and the vapor will grow richer with each bag.
- Bags over hoses. The table vape comes with two options for consumption: a plastic bag and a hose. The hose allows for continuous hitting of the vapor while the bag fills up, you hit it, and then fill it again. I prefer the bag for a few reasons: it allows for an intentional pause between hitting it so you can assess how you’re feeling, and the bag collects the rich goodness of the vapor so you can enjoy it at your own pace.
How to Use AVB (or ABV)
AVB means already vaped bud while ABV means already been vaped, and both are common terms for the leftovers of a table vape sesh.
One of my favorite things about using a table vape is the economy of it. Vaporizing cannabis requires less bud than combustion because none of it is lost to the flames. And once it’s vaporized, you can use the bud again in edibles. I save my vaped bud in an airtight glass jar until I have enough to use in a recipe.
Vaporizing your bud is essentially decarboxylation – heating the flower to change the cannabinoids from acidic to neutral. Of course, some compounds are lost to the heat, but you’re still left with potent, CBN-rich bud. I love infusing this bud into coconut oil or butter to make brownies or cookies. Because of the amount of heating, what’s left in this bud is highly CBN-rich, which means that your edibles are likely to be sedating and sleep-inducing.
About Arizer
Arizer is a vaporizer company that has been around since 2005. They offer several levels of vaporizers, both handheld and desktop vapes. What I really like about Arizer is their vapes are affordable (especially compared to some famous desktop vapes) and they don’t require an app to use – because not everything needs an app, damn it. Arizer is based out of Kitchener, Canada
