About: Beak & Skiff Research is an extension of Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards, a farm that was established outside of Syracuse in 1911. The farm first expanded into hard ciders in 2014 and then grew to hemp in 2019.
Beak & Skiff Research was part of the pilot hemp program in New York State and received a conditional THC cultivation license in the spring of 2022. Their first harvest will be extracted and manufactured into products that align with their CBD offerings, including tinctures, balms, and seltzers.
Beak & Skiff is in the process of building their own manufacturing facility onsite, which will allow them to process its products as well as products from other farmers in the Central and Western New York areas.
While the cultivations and manufacturing area are not open to the public, visitors can explore the Beak & Skiff campus, just down the road from the hemp farm. Here you can explore the apple orchard as well as a variety of activities from the on-site café and cidery to the gift shop where CBD and other minor cannabinoid products are available. Beak & Skiff hosts an annual concert series in the summer, and welcomes guests year-round. The best seasons to visit are during the summer and fall, during the concert series, and apple harvest season.
